Marie, Dotty, Sally Ann, and Marie.....all these adorable dollies share the same set of clothes!
From the left....representing Marie, one of the five Dionne quintuplets born in Canada in 1934, this doll is from Whitman Publishing Company, Inc #1055 published in 1936. The set of clothes all these dollies share originally were drawn for her.
Little blonde curly-locks Dotty is one of a set of 5 dolls published by Whitman (#1002) in 1939 and using the same clothes from the original Marie book previously published. The other dolls were named Margie, Peggy, Patsy, and Bunny and they each shared a set of clothes from one of the other quintuplets.
Never giving up on a winning combination, the next little dollie, Sally Ann was published by Whitman (#1010) in 1941 again using the clothes drawn for the original Marie paper doll book. The other dolls in this set were named Mary Jane, Mary Lee, Betty Sue, and Patty Lou.
The last little girl is again Marie Dionne. This Marie is slightly smaller but still shares the same set of clothes. This set, with the dolls redrawn, was published by Dell Publishing in 1937.
Notice the jumpsuit has Marie's name on it....in all of the sets.
